Chaos in Jakarta After Heavy Rainfall Floods Streets

Severe flooding brought chaos to Jakarta, Indonesia, on Monday, December 11, as the region was battered by heavy rain and strong winds.This video shared by onlooker Evan Leonardus on Twitter shows cars almost submerged by water next to commercial buildings on Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said in the heart of Jakarta. The dramatic scenes meant motorists could not pass along some roads, while bus services were also disrupted, the Jakarta Post reported. Trees were also reported to have fallen across Indonesia’s capital during the storm, the newspaper reported.
