“Key issue of ventilation will be resolved” Railways to redesign non-AC trains after Mumbra accident

New Delhi, June 9, 2025 (ANI): Following the recent tragic incident in Mumbra, Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information and Publicity (EDIP) at the Railway Board said “The major issue with automatic door closing in non-AC trains is suffocation because of reduced ventilation. After detailed discussions, it was decided that new non-AC trains will be designed and manufactured, and the key issue of ventilation will be resolved using three design changes in the trains..."
