Wales headlines 9 November: NHS boards asked to find millions in savings, facial recognition used at Cardiff Beyoncé gig, HSBC to stop Welsh language service

The Welsh government has called on NHS boards across the country to find £65 million pounds worth of savings, and decrease overspends where possible. There are fears throughout the winter months, this could affect services, as Cardiff and the Vale health board has already been put on the highest alert level.South Wales police and crime commissioner Alun Michael has admitted facial recognition software was used to scan attendees at a recent Beyoncé concert in Cardiff. The software was used at the Principality to scan for terrorists and pedophiles at the gig, given the high number of children present.HSBC has said they will be removing their Welsh language helpline after a decade of declining use of the service. Bank bosses wrote to members of the Senedd, and said they didn’t take the decision lightly. The bank has closed 12 branches in Wales over the last year and say their English helpline gets roughly a thousand more users daily.
