Cardiff and the Vale health board have declared the highest level alert, due to ongoing and upcoming winter pressures. The board said it was experiencing significant sustained adverse demand on services. Cardiff is the only health board in this situation so far, but last year at one point all 7 declared the highest alert. Welsh presenter Carol Vorderman has left her show on BBC Wales, blaming new guidelines about social media usage.
