The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred the case regarding the viral video of women being paraded naked in Manipur to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), affirming its ""zero tolerance"" towards crimes against women. The Centre has requested the Supreme Court to relocate the case outside Manipur and aims to see the trial conclude within six months of the CBI filing the charge sheet.Additionally, the Centre has initiated talks with the Meitei and Kuki communities, acknowledging a deep mistrust between them, and is actively working to bridge the gap. To provide support to the victims, the Manipur government has established ""district psychological support teams"" at various relief camps, which include an all-women team of medical specialists. The Centre is also offering legal aid through the District Legal Services Authority for the victims. To prevent such incidents from recurring, it is now mandatory for police station in-charges to report all cases to the Director General of Police (DGP), with investigations monitored by an SP-rank officer under the DGP's supervision.Furthermore, the affidavit states that suitable rewards will be given for reporting such incidents and providing information leading to the arrest of the culprits.
