Amid the violence that took place in Bengal, All India Trinamool Congress's Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, Derek O'Brien, who is also the chief national spokesperson of the TMC, shared a video on his Twitter handle on July 13, 2023, at 12:52 PM. In the video, the BJP Leader and leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, was allegedly heard stating in Bengali, "We have to create an atmosphere where Article 355 (emergency provisions) will have to be implemented. We have no other way.
