"On the midnight of 2nd of January, just as the country was deep in slumber of the new year hangover, residents of Joshimath woke up to a frightening sound. The sound of their homes, roads developing huge cracks. In fact, if you just have a look at the pictures you can see, that the huge deep cracks have developed all across the town, breaking it into pieces before it falls apart. The fears are that Joshimath is Sinking. Angry locals protested after which the govt took notice and started evacuation. Strikingly enough, the warning of Joshimath sinking came almost 50 years back but they were readily ignored. So What is happening in this Uttarakhand town? Is the town going to really sink?
