BJP Minister Swami Prasad Maurya resigns, joins SP

In a setback to the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, Minister of labor, employment, and coordination Swami Prasad Maurya has resigned from the Yogi cabinet on Tuesday ahead of high-stakes assembly elections. Minister Maurya submitted his resignation to the state Governor via email and handed over the hard copy to his BJP MLA for submission. Swami Prasad Maurya has joined Samajwadi Party. While Akhilesh Yadav has tweeted and said leaders with Swami Prasad Maurya are welcomed in the party. Watch this episode.
