7 MLAs join Samajwadi Party, watch debate over UP politics

Six Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLAs and one Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA joined the Samajwadi Party on Saturday in the presence of its national president Akhilesh Yadav at party's state headquarters in Lucknow. On the other side, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday asserted that a BJP victory in next year's Uttar Pradesh assembly polls will lay the foundation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
