Maharashtra Government’s Loan Waiver Scheme: Hit or Miss?

Maharashtra government decided to give loan waivers up to 2 lakhs to farmers, the cut-off dates being 1 April 2015 to 30 September 2019. But the cut-off date raises questions over the intention of the government. In October and November, about 300 farmers committed suicide. So, why was September 2019 kept as the cut-off month?
