Japanese artists, activists to publicly urge re-display of comfort women statue at Aichi Triennale

소녀상 전시 재개 서명 3만명 육박...오늘 기자회견Artists and activists are calling for Japan's biggest international art festival to bring back a statue symbolizing the women and girls sexually enslaved by Japan during wartime.And a petition by them... to that effect... has gotten nearly 30-thousand signatures in three weeks.The artists who made the petition were due to hold a press conference today... at the local government office near the arts festival in Aichi Prefecture.They will be urging the organizers of the Aichi Triennale to put the so-called "comfort women" statue back on display.It had been on display for the festival's first three days, but was taken down because of alleged "terror threats" and a Japanese government order to remove it.
