Various athletes contested in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Their fate was locked in the EVMs. But now the election results are out. Most of the candidates from sports background have lost in the elections but some of them have won. Cricketer Gautam Gambhir who recently joined BJP won from East Delhi. Boxer Vijendra Singh got the ticket from Congress to contest from South Delhi, but he lost. Shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathod of BJP won from Jaipur Gramin. Footballer Kalyan Chaubey of BJP lost from Krishna Nagar, West Bengal. Athlete Krishna Punia of Congress lost from Jaipur Gramin. Cricketer Keerti Azad of Congress lost from Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
