Violence at Amit Shah roadshow in Kolkata; BJP demands EC to ban Mamata Banerjee from campaigning

Fresh violence broke out yesterday during BJP president Amit Shah's roadshow in Kolkata. There was widespread violence and arson witnessed on the streets. Stones were also pelted on Amit Shah's convoy. Vidyasagar College in Kolkata was set on vandalised allegedly by the ABVP supporters. The police were forced to resort to resort to lathi charge to curb the violent mob that had unleashed lawlessness in the area. Shah's road show had to be scrapped following the ruckus. Various parts of Kolkata witnessed violence.
