Cabinet clears Lokpal bill; PM in, CBI out

Union Cabinet has cleared the Lokpal draft. Sources said the bill will be tabled in the Parliament as early as Thursday. The stage is set also for another Anna-Govt showdown with the cabinet rejecting many of Team Anna's demands. The government has decided that the CBI will not be under the Lokpal but the Prime Minister will come under its ambit with riders.
