Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar Enters 2020 Presidential Race The 58-year-old is the fourth female Democratic senator to announce a bid. She joins Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand. Amy Klobuchar, via campaign rally Klobuchar, the first female senator in Minnesota history, was elected back in 2006. She has since won all of her re-elections by a landslide. Klobuchar's moderate status has also made her one of the more popular senators in DC. Though she votes alongside party lines, Klobuchar is known for cutting deals with Republicans. Since announcing her presidential bid, several GOP senators have praised the move.
