Trump calls for US-Mexico border wall again despite govt shutdown

President Trump yet again called for construction of wall on US-Mexico border. House Democrats slammed the proposal calling Trump’s electoral promise as ‘waste of money’. Trump outlined alleged criminal activity across US-Mexico border due to lack of wall in Instagram. Dissonance between lawmakers and Trump led to a partial government shutdown and January 05 marked the 15th day of the shutdown. Several government agencies in the US are shut due to the impasse. The US House on January 03 passed legislative packages to reopen the government.
