New Southern Economic Committee pledges efforts to boost ties between Korea and ASEAN

The New Southern Economic Committee held its first general meeting this morning, headed by President Moon's special economic adviser, Kim Hyun-chul.Explaining the achievements of the Moon administration's New Southern Policy over the past year,...Kim pledged the commission will put all efforts into increasing human resource exchanges between Korea and South and Southeast Asia,... hoping that 15 million people will travel between Korea and ASEAN countries every year by the year 2020.He also said.... the commission will seek to establish a mutually beneficial and forward-looking economic cooperation foundation.... to boost bilateral trade with South and Southeast Asia.... and build a peaceful and secure environment in the region.
