Varun Mitra has been the face of many ad films and he has also anchored many prominent travel shows on the tube. He had been struggling for a meaty role in films for long and finally he did manage to strike gold with his first mainstream release Vishesh Films' Jalebi. It needs be mentioned here that Jalebi is a remake of the highest grossing Bengali film "Prakton." This is not he first time Vishesh Films' have remade a Bengali film, earlier it was Begum Jaan which was a remake of Rajkahini and now this one.
