The history of Kollegal has been that since 1989, no single candidate has been able to become an MLA twice in this seat. मायावती ने कर्नाटक में एंट्री कर ली है। बीएसपी को कोल्लेगल सीट पर लगभग 40 हजाप मत मिले। वहीं कांग्रेस को 32 हजार के आस पास, और बीजेपी को 22 हजार मत मिले। कोल्लेगल का इतिहास रहा है कि 1989 के बाद कोई भी उम्मीदवार लगातार दो बार इस सीट पर विधायक नहीं बन सका है।
