Hi, Daniel. A major break from Kim's signature policy adopted five years ago: Pursuing developments in both the economy and nuclear weapons. That's right.Claiming that it accomplished its nuclear weapons program perfectly in only five years,... the North declared an end to its nuclear development.It says there's no more need to carry out nuclear or ICBM tests... or use its Punggye-ri test site where all six nuclear tests were carried out. Now, this moratorium on nuclear and missile provocations sends out a message to the world that the regime has opened up the possibility of negotiating on denuclearization. The regime says it also wants to keep in close contact with neighboring countries... which, many see, is to create a favorable environment to develop its economy -- which, according to the regime, will be Pyongyang's sole focus from now on.
