Expressing his happiness over the victory, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath thanked and congratulated the people of the state. “I thank our MLAs and allies for their support. I would also like to thank the independent MLAs who supported us for betterment of the state,” said Adityanath. He further took a dig at the Samajwadi Party and said its 'opportunistic face' has been exposed.' Elections for 58 Rajya Sabha seats were held on Friday to fill vacancies that will arise after the retirement of Upper House members early next month in UP, Bihar, Maharashtra, MP, West Bengal, Karnataka, Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand.
