Cold spell returned, heavy snow in some parts _ 021218

Good morning, the nation woke up to a deep freeze yet again... cold wave alerts are in place for many parts so dress warmly on your way out. Meanwhile, Gwangju and Jeollado regions are seeing a lot of snow. There is a heavy snow advisory in place with Gwangju seeing up to 5 centimeters of snowfall. The rest of us will be dealing with dry weather. Concern is rising as the Jeollado regions will see more snowfall with up to 7 centimeters expected through early tomorrow morning. The Chungcheong-do regions as well as mountainous regions in Jeju will also see snow. Checking on today's temperatures, afternoon highs in Seoul will be in negative territory at minus 2 degrees, Gwangju will see some sunshine in the afternoon before snow falls again tonight. Readings will bounce back starting tomorrow afternoon but expect to see freezing morning lows for a while even during the Seollal or the Lunar New Year holiday.
