Though Sanjay Leela Bhansali tried to portray that Padmaavat is based on Rani Padmini's bravery but Bhansali's main character is Alauddin Khilji. Recently in an interview when Bhansali was asked about Ranveer's character, he said, "People say Ranveer's Alauddin has been shown as a dark character. For me, he is the most colorful of them all.
