South Africa and India waited to hear from the match officials regarding it being abandoned due to a dangerous Wanderers pitch, differing views emerged from the two camps. While India were adamant that the game should go ahead, South Africa emphasised that the decision rested with the match officials - but they would have no issue with continuing the match.
