Nose of Jet Reportedly Owned by Lord Ashcroft Crashes Into Malta Airport Building

A private jet, reportedly owned by the British Conservative Party peer Lord Ashcroft, crashed into a building at Malta International Airport while unmanned on Wednesday, December 27.The Dassualt Falcon 7X plane was blown by a strong wind off the runway and into the offices of Maltese construction company Polidano Group, Malta Today reported.No one was injured in the accident, Maltese media organisation One News reported. Police officers and the army attended the accident scene, the news site reported.The jet, registered in Bermuda, is owned by the former deputy of the UK Conservative Party, Michael Ashcroft, Malta Today reported.Lord Ashcroft was once the 74th richest person in the UK, according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2015. He did not immediately release a statement about the accident, but in response to a query on Twitter about whether the jet belonged to him, he wrote: “Nooooooooo,” the UK’s Daily Telegraph reported. The tweet has since been deleted.The plane was registered to Flying Lion Limited in July 2008, a company for which Lord Ashcroft is a director, according to the Government of Bermuda.
