Following threats to Deepika Padukone over her film Padmavati, security has been heightened around her residence in Bengaluru. Karnataka Home Minsiter Ramalinga Reddy wrote to the state police chief seeking protection to Deepika's family in Bengaluru. Following the letter, armed policemen have been deployed outside Prakash Padukone's residence. While Deepika's family has not sought for security, the Congress-ruled Karnataka government has initiated suo moto action to provide security to Deepika's family following threats issued to her by various Rajput organisations.
