US mayors, governors vow to stick with Paris accord

Shortly after Trump announced that the US is pulling out of the Paris Accord, a coalition of states and nearly 70 mayors across the nation said they "will adopt, honor, and uphold the commitments to the goals enshrined in the Paris Agreement." Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel issued a strong condemnation of what he called an “alarming” decision to ignore the consensus of 194 countries and the entire scientific community.
