Mamta banerjee is leading towards victory and more likely to form govt in West Bengal of the 294 constituencies. TMC supremo Mamata leads by over 3,160 votes. A total of 1,961 candidates contested the elections held from April 4 to May 5 to elect a 294-member assembly. The Trinamool wave appeared to be crushing all the opposition in the southern parts of the state while the Left-Congress challenge was most visible in northern Bengal.
