Orca Stuns Tourists by Tossing Sea Turtle Out of Water

Tourists were treated to a stunning performance by a whale while on a boat trip around the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador on May 29. Whale-spotting in the creature’s natural habitat, customers with Quasar Expeditions spotted an orca, or killer whale playing with a poor, unsuspecting sea turtle. The giant whale tossed the tiny turtle from the water, to the delight of onlookers. Orcas regularly use the waters in the Galapagos area for hunting. Credit: Philip Courter/Quasar Expeditions
