UNASUR Invites Colombia, Venezuela to Discuss Border Crisis

Ernesto Samper, Secretary-General of the Union of South American Nations, has invited the presidents of Venezuela and Colombia to a meeting to discuss the border crisis affecting the two countries. Samper said he hoped that the situation could be resolved at the meeting, which could take place as soon as Sunday. Venezuela has closed parts of its border with Colombia in response to paramilitary activity, massive smuggling of subsidized goods, and drug trafficking in the affected area. teleSUR
