BMC proposes to hike property tax by 20% , Mumbai - Tv9 Gujarati

Mumbai : City property owners would not get relief in the property tax as the BMC has proposed additional property tax of 20% to make up for the loss of calculating the tax on the carpet area instead of built-up area. The BMC claimed that it would lose Rs 300 crore per year due to calculating carpet area without 20% hike.The proposal is likely to get clear by the ruling Sena-BJP party.
