It is based on the detective character Byomkesh Bakshi created by writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. It features Sushant Singh Rajput in lead role as Byomkesh Bakshi. The film is co-produced by Yash Raj Films and Dibakar Banerjee Productions.
